An anti hero is a character in a novel, play, etc. who lacks traditional heroic virtues. The character has flaws, and it shows that they are only human. Everyone makes mistakes, even hero's. A character that personifies an anti hero would be Mulan. Mulan loves her family very much and when her ill father is called off to war, she steps in to save her father. Without a second thought she cuts her hair and pretends to be not only a boy, but the son of her father Fa Zhou. She squeezes her way past registration and is soon off to "boot camp" to begin training for the war. What she did was honorable but the reason she is an Anti hero is because she was deceitful, and lied the whole way through. Even by doing the honorable thing, she is still able to be considered an Anti hero.

I agree that mulan would be an anti-hero because she does refuse her own family values, but inorder to protect her family. She shows braverly and love, but also to be hard-headed.

i think that Mulan is a great example for an anti-hero beacuse she wanted to protect her father, but had to lie to do so.
